Popular comic duo, The List Operators, are returning with two great shows
one that promises to be better than a Wii and another that talks about everything high-tech including cyberspace and ‘myface’
Polyglot Theatre, who brought us our favourite cardboard-box-event, We Built This City, also returns with a new elastic-weaving creative play installation, Tangled Web
Brisbane’s favourite youth circus troupe, Flipside, will amaze all with their new tricks and Nick Jr’s Lah Lah’s Musical Wonderland will have us all up on our feet dancing.
Tangled Web is a huge, messy, fun, interactive elastic weaving event created live by children and their families. It’s part mass visual arts installation, part performance, part play ground, part dance party and all chaos.
Like a giant peg board, children and families create a landscape together, tangling and weaving coloured elastic through giant poles. Imagine a shared squiggly line drawing in three dimensions, creating a stretchy bouncy playground, fuelled by live music and culminating in a big dance party.
Tangled Web is a giant experiment where children take control and create a giant abstract tangled artwork which everyone owns.

Shaun Tan - The ART of STORY
Limited edition prints of illustrations from many of Shaun Tan’s well-known books, including The Rabbits, The Red Tree, The Lost Thing, The Arrival, Tales from Outer Suburbia and The Bird King and Other Sketches, will adorn the walls during Powerkidz.
The exhibition will also feature the film, The Lost Thing which won an Oscar this year for Best Short Animation. The Lost Thing is an animated modern day parable for all ages adapted from Shaun’s picture book of the same name. Visitors will have the opportunity to view some of the developmental work for this film as well as watch the 15-minute film and special effects included on the DVD.
Common Periwinkle (Littorina littorea)
is a species of small edible sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk which has gills and an operculum
This species appears in prehistoric shellfish middens throughout Europe, and is therefore known to have been an important source of food since at least 7500 BC in Scotland
