Thai Bhikkhu (ภิกษุ)

Fun Fact: Are Buddhist monks supposed to be vegetarian/vegan?
The Buddha himself is recorded as having consumed meat. The Buddha allowed Sangha members to eat whatever food is donated to them by laypeople, except that they may not eat meat if they know/suspect the animal was killed specifically for them.
Consequently, the Theravadan tradition (Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Burma) which follows the Pali scriptures does not practice vegetarianism though an individual may do so at his or her personal choice.

Its time for Muay Thai (มวยไทย)

Wai Khru Ram Muay (ไหว้ครูรำมวย)
is a peacock ceremonial dance performed before Muay Thai matches
to show respect to the teachers/trainers, God and mankind and
Buddha (for protection for both fighters for an honourable fight)
It also reflects on the fighter's control, style and "sect"

Check out his Mongkhon (มงคล: headband) and Pra Jiad (ประเจียด: armbands)
The Mongkhon is presented to the Nak Muay (fighter) by his teacher/trainer
once he/she has acquire sufficient experience and knowledge about Muay Thai
The Pra Jiad were worn to give confidence and luck to the fighters
some gyms/schools wear colour-coded bands to show rank (like karate belts)
Even when not in used, these items are honoured by placing it above head-level.
Fighters believe that the bands will lose their mystical powers/blessings
if someone were to step over them.

Muay Thai Sparring
Its a form of hard (counter force with force) martial arts from Thailand
quite similiar to Indochinese styles of kickboxing
Muay Thai is often referred to as "Art of Eight Limbs"
due to the use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes (eight points of contact)
Its golden age was during King Chulalongkorn (Rama V)'s era in 1868
as it flourished as a means of physical exercise, self-defense and recreation sport

Check out the video below
take note of Kru Dip's awesome execution of
1. Mat Wiang Klap (หมัดเหวี่ยงกลับ: Spinning Backfist)
2. Kradot Chok (กระโดดชก: Cobra/Superman Punch)
3. Sok Wiang Klap (ศอกเหวี่ยงกลับ: Reverse Horizontal Elbow)
4. Kardot Sok (กระโดดศอก: Mid-Air Elbow Strike - made popular by movies Ong Bak/Tom Yum Goong/Chocolate)

Muay Thai Kicks
The two most common kicks in Muay Thai are known as the thip ("foot jab") and the te chiang (kicking upwards in the shape of a triangle cutting under the arm and ribs) or angle kick.
