Ron Mueck @ GoMA

Moral of the Lesson
Don't play DotA and cook pasta at the same time
the pasta will taste like crap

Good old trusty shoes..

Lunch was at Punjabi Palace
135 Melbourne Street, West End
Open 7 Days from 5pm
Lunch: Tuesday-Friday 11.30-2pm

A lil about Punjabi, remember reading in our pri/sec school history textbook
about the Indus Valley Civilisation in Mohenjo-Daro
Punjabis are mainly from Pakistan or the Indian-Pakistan border
There are Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims and Christians
पंजाबी पकवान or Punjabi Cuisine (Northern Indian Cuisine)
uses large amounts of ghee, butter, cream,
masala (spices such as onion, garlic and ginger) and rice
Famous food styles includes Tandoori, Butter, Tikka, Kebabs, Keema, Biryani etc

Jay asked me "Indians can eat Beef meh?"
The answer is "Yes". Not all Indians are Hindus.
Punjabis are quite famous for their Nihari/Kadhai Beef, Beef Pasanda etc dishes

The ambience is warm and welcoming
However, for a restaurant that is not fully occupied/crowded
The waiters are not very pro-active in clearing the tables
So its quite unsightly and reflects badly on service

Diner today: Jay & KING MING

Menu is classified by
Starters/Tandoori Starters/Specialities/Chicken, Beef, Lamb or Vegetables/
Vegetables/Dry Vegetables/Prawn or Fish/ Tandoori Main Dishes/ Salads/
Breads/ Accompaniments (what?)/ Drinks/ Hot Drinks
Pretty easy to browse and understand
Description is clear and quite attractive
Items that caught my attention are:
Keema Samosa, Lamb Cutlets, Papadums, Chicken Tikka,
Butter Chicken, Malai Kofta, Rogan Josh and Lassi

However today we're going to try the
Quick Corporate Lunch

Curry + Rice + Salad at $9.95
Interesting Psychological Marketing

Chicken Tikka (Gluten Free)
$5.50
Boneless chicken pieces marinated with yoghurt, fresh herbs and spices
and grilled on skewers in the tandoor oven.
Very tasty! =D

Butter Chicken (Gluten free)
Boneless curried chicken pieces cooked in tomato, ground cashews
and spices in a smooth thick gravy.
Chicken is tender and tasteful. A must-try!

Beef Vindaloo (Dairy free)
This is the seasoned curry lovers dream - uniquely blended spices
make it tangy and hot.
However the beef used is not tender for the teeth
has fibre and suggest low quality cheap beef used

Basmati Rice
Nicely cooked =)

Salad
Nothing impressive
Simply tomatoes and onions shabbily cut in concassé

Service was below average
Food was slow to serve
However, the dishes we ordered were tasty! =)
Return Factor: Only for $9.95 Specials

Ron Mueck's sculptures are some of the most widely acclaimed and identifiable works in the international contemporary art arena.

Mueck first came to the attention of a wide audience when his work Dead Dad (above) 1996-1997 was included in the history-making exhibition 'Sensation: Young British Artist from the Saatchi Collection' in London, 1997.

Since then, this Australian-born, London-based artist has established a strong international reputation for his moving and poignant sculptures - sometimes colossal, sometimes miniature - which resonate with deep emotion.

Often naked and suspended in states of self-consciousness, introspection or deep contemplation, Mueck's figures present both emotional and physical states of exposure.

Astounding in their apparent realism and compelling in their ability to invite interaction, Mueck's works have earned him a singular place as the creator of some of the most evocative sculptures of our time.

There's a new Peru-styled restuarant at West End
